Welcome to Adelaide Eastern Community Childcare Centre

meetingAdelaide Eastern Community Childcare Centre Inc is an accredited community run and community owned sessional long day care centre. Originally established by families working for and using the University of Adelaide in 1969, we pride ourselves on the many years of providing quality and affordable care. We are situated in converted blue stone residence on the corner of Watson Ave and Close St in Rose Park. We provide care to children in four different age groups.

Our vision: We believe every child deserves to learn, grow and develop through trust, nurturing relationships, diverse play and quality experiences in a caring community.

Our purpose: We are a not-for-profit community-based early childhood education and care centre offering a safe, healthy, sustainable and welcoming environment for children, families and educators. We support children to be confident learners and communicators through:

  • a quality care environment
  • play-based learning experiences
  • nurturing relationships, and
  • an inclusive educational programme based onthe Early Years Learning Framework

"Our family discovered Adelaide Eastern Community Childcare a bit by accident when searching for childcare options close to the city where we both work. We don’t live nearby, but immediately felt welcomed into the warm and diverse community of this centre. The staff are outstanding, bright and brilliantly engaged with every child in their care, and both our children have flourished in the baby, toddler, wallaby and kangaroo rooms. At morning drop-off I always leave them feeling sincerely relieved we found a place at this lovely centre!"

"I always feel very welcome as soon as I step into the room for drop off/pick up. I can tell that my child is very well looked after, and now he obviously feels the same as he runs happily into the room ahead of me. He is obviously looking forward to the day! Although he only attends childcare once a week, he is part of the group and I note that staff make him feel at home. There is always an activity set up that he enjoys which gives him a sense of belonging. I always feel very comfortable leaving him with the amazing staff."

Mother to Nathan, 2 years of age

Eloise and Lachlan love going to AECCC. The Centre provides a safe and secure, socially inclusive environment which is staffed by friendly, compassionate and energetic carers. The childrens' days are filled with fun educational activities, and consistent routines. Eloise and Lachlan have developed wonderful friendships with other children, the staff and other families at the Centre"
